Hi, I'm Lucian Himes, a naturalist, marine ecologist, and photographer based in Southern California. I have always had a deep-seated love for the natural world, built on a history of wonder and awe. While my background is in coastal marine ecology, I am entranced by so much of the natural world. I have had the opportunity to travel to incredible places around the world, but I find beauty in the stories that happen in the everyday around us. I try to live my life in line with the definition of a naturalist, "a student of natural history" (Merriam-Webster). My goal is to share the stories of nature from a variety of perspectives. From the smallest stories of neighborhood nature to the majesty of areas untouched by human impacts. I hope to inspire people to love and appreciate all elements of the natural world.
